Are they calling you basic again? You’re versatile, adaptable, sweet, and worthy of love. Don’t get too excited. We’re talking to the Muesli. 😉 Seriously though. This nutty and sweet blend is anything but basic.
What’s in it?
- 4 grain flakes (wheat, barley, rye, oats)
- sunflower seeds
- flax seeds
While many other Mueslis highlight the taste of sweet and fruity ingredients, classic Muesli puts the spotlight on classic nutty flavors and textures. Pecans, Walnuts, Almonds, and Cashews offer a full and robust nutty crunch. Raisins and Apricots add a soft and sweet final touch.
Serving suggestions (on the haus)
- For a smoothie bowl: Blend together 1 frozen banana, 1 tsp almond butter, ¼ tsp cinnamon, ¼ tsp vanilla extract, ⅓ cup plain Greek yogurt (or alternative) and a splash of almond milk (or milk alternative). Top with ⅓ cup classic Muesli and fresh sliced bananas.
- For overnight oats: Add ⅔ cup classic Muesli to a bowl or jar. Add ⅓ cup almond milk (or milk alternative), ⅓ cup plain Greek yogurt (or alternative), 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp almond butter, and ¼ tsp vanilla extract. Stir it all together. Put it in the fridge overnight. Take it out the next morning. Add fresh banana slices. Enjoy!
- For oatmeal: Heat ⅓ cup of classic Muesli and ⅓ cup of almond milk (or milk alternative) in a saucepan over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat and sprinkle ¼ tsp cinnamon and ¼ tsp of nutmeg on top. Drizzle on 1 tsp of honey. Add fresh banana slices if you’re into it.
Don’t forget: You can also keep it simple and just add milk/yogurt. 🙂
